Eurovision Fan Contest - Winter 2015

Eurovision Fan Contest - Winter 2015 was be the 12th edition of EFC that will be held in Sassenberg, Germany, following Ariana Grande's and Zedd's victory in Autumn 2014 with the song "Break Free". It's the first time Germany will host the contest, after trying 11 times. The two semi-finals will be held in 17 and 24 January, and the Grand Final in 14 February 2015. The three shows will be hosted by Mario Götze, Cindy aus Marzhan, Ann-Kathrin Vida and Ardian Bujupi

Forty-seven countries confirmed their participation, with Northern Ireland debuting, and Albania, Andorra, Austria, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Fiji, Hawaii, New Zealand, Portugal Serbia, Switzerland and Wales returning, while Armenia, Canada, Colombia, Hungary, Ireland, Jamaica, Jordan, Kosovo, Latvia, Mexico, Poland, Turkey and US Virgin Islands having withdrawn from this edition.

Croatia won this edition with 200 points and the song "Yellow Flicker Beat".

On 25 December 2014, it was confirmed that the city that would host the Winter edition would be Sassenberg.

Bidding phase

Five towns of Germany had bidded for hosting the contest: Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Sassenberg and Bavaria. Berlin and Bavaria failed the bid on 24th of December. Later on that day, Düsseldorf failed too. Sassenberg and Hamburg were the last to compete for hosting the contest. In the beginning, Hamburg was one of the most possible of the two cities to host. On 25 December, the executive producer of this edition, Marc Hellmers, decided that the host city would be Sassenberg.

The competition will consist of two semi-finals and a final, a format which has been in use since the first edition in July. The ten countries with the highest scores in each semi-final will qualify to the final where they will join the host nation Germany and the five main sponsoring nations (known as the Big Five): Sweden, The Netherlands, Cyprus, Spain (if it participates), and Denmark.

The draw that will determine the semi-final allocation will be held on 17 January 2015.

Graphic Design

On 19 December 2014, the slogan for the Winter 2015 Contest was revealed to be "United Souls". The theme utilises feathers meant to symbolise unity between people on a constant basis. The colours of the theme intend to highlight unity between all people, besides gender or colour whilst simultaneously also representing the deep lights of our souls.
