Eurovision Fan Contest - September 2015


Eurovision Fan Contest - September 2015 was the 17th edition of EFC that was held in Sydney, Australia following the victory of Samantha Jade in August 2015 with the song "Soldier". It was the first time Australia will host the contest. The two semi-finals were held in 13 and 20 September, and the Grand Final in 27 September 2015. The three shows were hosted by a famous Australian television presenter, Sonia Kruger.

 

Forty-eight countries confirmed their participation in the contest, with Namibia debuting.


Australia won in this edition, with Delta Goodrem and the song "Wings", gathering 175 points.

On September 8, it was announced that the Sydney Super Dome, in Sydney, would host the next edition, with a capacity of 21,000 people.

Format


The competition will consist of two semi-finals and a final, a format which has been in use since the first edition in July. The ten countries with the highest scores in each semi-final will qualify to the final where they will join the host nation Australia. The consition of the Big Five will be changed and will be based on this format: the top three of the last edition (host nation + second and third placers of last edition), and three most successful countries. Semi-Final Allocation Draw

For the first time ever, no allocation draw was held. On September 10th, the host broadcaster, SBS, announced the semi-finals draw, which was chosen by professional TV producers.

Graphic Design

On 31 August 2015, the slogan for the September 2015 Contest was revealed to be "Rhythm Inside". The theme utilises a colorful woman dancing and the slogan symbolizes the hidden "rhythm" the hidden characteristics each person has.


Presenters

On September 8, the executive producer, Josh, together with the host broadcaster SBS, announced during the SBS news that the hosts would be Sonia Kruger, a very popular Australian TV presenter.


National host broadcaster

During an initial meeting between the host broadcaster SBD and the EBU in early September 2015, the representatives of the core organising team were selected. Josh Salmon, who is the Head of the Australian delegation, was announced as the executive producer.
